For Aberdeen City Students/Families: request for accommodation
Does any student/family have a spare room to host a Rambert dancer for the dates they are performing in Aberdeen: Monday 13th February (night of) to Saturday 18th (morning).
The dancers would only require a room as out all day and not back till night.
Anyone that can help please do let us know asap, you can phone on 01224 647341 or e-mail enquiries@danscentre.com
Many thanks

BLUE PETER BAKE A DIFFERENCE SUCCESS
Laura Gow who was keen to support the Blue Peter “Bake a Difference” appeal, decided to bake cakes and do coffees for the parents waiting for the Craigiebuckler children on a Saturday morning. Laura made shortbread, muffins, top hats, fairy cakes, cheese scones and Matchmaker Moments, a friend brought a lemon drizzle and together they served several willing and supportive parents and children. They were delighted to raise £216! This was sent to Blue Peter and all the appeal money is going to Children in Need. Well done Laura!

Jessica Low (Kingswells) won the RAD AWARDS DAY biannual Junior student award for Grade 3 in Edinburgh yesterday. Hundreds of children across Scotland competed for 4 awards from Gd2-Gd5. We are delighted that this Award is brought back to Danscentre after success at the last childrens competition two years ago. This is the 5th consecutive year that a Danscentre student has won an Award at the Childrens or Vocational Graded Awards day. Additionally, congratulations to all students who took part! Everyone danced beautifully and had a fantastic day!

STAFF CHANGES AT DANSCENTRE
We are sad to say that Susan Christie and Lynsay Murray will no longer be working at Danscentre. Susan has been part of the school for many years and has been an integral part of the admin team through many changes and developments over the last 15 years. Her knowledge, experience and sense of humour will be missed by all and we thank her for all her work and wish her much luck for the future. Lynsay Murray will also be missed by all the Thursday and Saturday DC regulars as well as teachers and staff alike.
We realise that many of you may wish to make a contribution towards a leaving present for Susan, Lynsay and Miss Hamilton who also leaves for Ballet West in September. Please hand any cards/monies/gifts in to reception with your name and the name of the gift you wish to contribute to marked clearly.
