Senior Review 2026
As we wrap up another unforgettable term at Danscentre, we are still glowing from the success of our Senior Review 2026. This special performance was a true celebration of the talent, hard work and dedication of our senior students. Each performer brought their passion, commitment and individuality to the stage, creating a show that will be remembered for years to come.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the performance possible, and of course to our outstanding dancers who gave it their all. The Senior Review 2026 was more than just a performance; it was a showcase of the hard work and training that allows our dancers to achieve such high standards of technique, choreography and artistry.
Stay tuned for more details about our next His Majesty’s Theatre production in March 2027 – we can't wait to share what we have planned and look forward to revealing more exciting news soon!.

2026 Leavers
It's been an emotional final week at Danscentre saying goodbye and good luck to our 2026 leavers, many of whom have danced with us for 15 years since their first pre-school class!
We welcomed parents and loved ones to watch our leavers perform at the senior review, marking their final show at Danscentre. We are sure they will carry their passion for dance long into their adult lives and benefit from the rich experiences and skills gained throughout their training with us. We will miss their energy in the studios but wish them all the best for their next steps.
National 5 Dance
Take a look at our National 5 students after their practical exam. A big well done to them all for completing the course earlier this year in March. The group have all shown so much development in their knowledge of dance, choreography and team work over this year- fingers crossed for their results in August! Danscentre is proud to be a Qualifications Scotland Accredited Centre and has also been able to offer the National Progression Award (NPA) to several groups of eligible students this year, many of whom are only in S1!

Exams
Danscentre is proud to offer a wide range of dance examinations and assessments through esteemed organisations including RAD, ISTD, The Royal Ballet School, Dance Leaders UK, SQA and our own internal Danscentre Awards. We have had a particularly busy exam term, with students undertaking a variety of assessments across all levels. Our ISTD candidates completed Grade 2 Modern, Intermediate Foundation, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 examinations, while RAD students sat Grade 5, Grade 7 and Advanced level ballet exams. We also had pupils participate in The Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP), completing both Level 1 and Level 4 assessments. Our level 4 students were the first to take on the ATAP 4 Ballet examination in the whole UK!
Alongside these external examinations, our younger dancers were assessed in our internal Danscentre Awards, with Primary 1-4 Ballet pupils completing their DC Ballet Awards and Grade 2 Modern students taking part in their DC Modern Awards. These assessments are designed to provide students with valuable experience in an exam-style environment, helping to build confidence and prepare them for future dance examinations.
Completing an exam or assessment at any level is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, commitment and dedication shown in weekly classes. We are incredibly proud of all our students for embracing these opportunities and continuing to progress in their dance training.
As one of only two dance schools in Scotland registered to offer The Royal Ballet School’s Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP), Danscentre is privileged to extend The Royal Ballet School’s System of Training to our students. ATAP not only develops ballet technique, but also encourages students to create, analyse and appreciate dance through choreography and reflective learning, providing a well-rounded and enriching dance education.
