End of Term Round Up: Spring Term

We hope you had a lovely start to the year and are ready to get going with the busy Summer term ahead. We have had a jam packed spring term with many exams and planning for our senior review - here's a snap shot of what we’ve been up to!

Exams

We’ve recently had a very busy and exciting exam period at Danscentre this March! Our dancers took part in:

• ISTD Modern exams, over 3 full days

• P1–4 DC Modern Awards, with 70 pupils participating

• RBS ATAP 2 Ballet exams

• RAD Grade 8 and Grade 4 ballet exams

• NPA Contemporary exam

Completing an exam is a huge achievement, and we are incredibly proud of every single pupil who took part. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment truly shone through – well done everyone!

National 5 Dance

After many months of hard work, our National 5 Dance pupils took on their exam. We had a great turnout at the sharing evening that took place at Peterculter Village Hall which gave parents, guardians and younger pupils a chance to see the exam pupils' choreography, solos and mood boards. Pupils have worked very hard at choreographing their pieces over the past few months and they should be very proud of their creativity and hard work!

Destinations 2026

A huge congratulations to all of our incredible dancers on a fantastic performance of our 'Stranger Things' choreography at YDance Destinations on Saturday, we are so proud of them all. A very special thank you to Miss Louis and our admin Katie for accompanying our dancers to the event and for all of their support throughout the day, we are so grateful.

Bake Sale

Our bake sale last Saturday was a great success, raising an incredible £285.84 thanks to the generosity of everyone who came along to support us. With a fantastic spread of homemade treats and a lovely community atmosphere, the event was both enjoyable and meaningful. This amazing effort has helped bring our overall defibrillator fundraising total to £1,383.92, putting us well on our way towards our £2,000 goal. Thank you to everyone who baked, donated, and showed their support, we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Senior Review

The Danscentre Senior Review will take place at RGC Craig Centre on Friday 12 June and Saturday 13 June. It provides an opportunity for parents and friends to observe set and creative work that has been developed over the last year within selected examined and free work classes. The Craig Centre provides an informal, relaxed and intimate atmosphere for the audience and performers to enjoy this celebration of work.

HMT Show 2027: Save The Date!

We have a very exciting announcement and are delighted to let you know that we have secured His Majesty's Theatre for a very special 40th anniversary gala show in March 2027. This production will celebrate 40 years since Danscentre was founded and will involve pupils from both the Junior and Senior school. More information will follow in due course but for now please save the week beginning 15th March 2027 in your diaries!
